The Fruit of Love: through loving God (Mark 12:29-30)
Def: Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out.
NB!! If you love someone, you will be loyal to them no matter what the cast. You will always believe in them, always expect the best of them, and always stand your ground in defending them.
1 Cor 13:13 Three things that will remain are, Faith, Hope and Love, the greatest of these is Love.
Gods seed of Love:
1 John 4:19 We can love God because He first loved us. The depth of His love is overwhelming. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Rom 5:8 But God commendeth His love towards us, in that, which we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 8:39 Paul says that nothing shall be able to separate us from the Love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord. Eph 3:19 Paul prays that we would all come to know the Love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fullness of God.
JESUS:
John 15:13 Jesus spoke to His disciples of the greatness of His own love, in a for shadowing of His death, when He said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. That is definitely the kind of love that Jesus demonstrated on Calvary.
JOHN:
1 John 3:1 The Apostle John declares “Behold what manner of Love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God.” Rom 5:5 Gods love is only implanted into our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit, and it is up to us to allow it to grow and produce abundant fruit in our lives. Rewards for Loving God:-
1. God living in us: John 14:23 Jesus said that if we have Him and would abide in Him and His words, that both He and the Father would come and make their abode in us.
2. All things working for Good: Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
3. Riches beyond our Imagination: 1 Cor 2:9-10 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of men the things which God hath prepared for them that Love Him, but it has been revealed through the Spirit to us.
4. The Promise of Grace: Eph 6:24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity
5. The Promise of a Crown: James 1:12 He shall receive the crown of Life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
Loving the Brethren:
Encouragement to Love: 1 Peter 1:22
Seeing you have purified your soul in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the Brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently
1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning , that we should love one another Rom 13:8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another 1 John 3:18 We must not only love in word or tongue, but as Jesus did, we are to love in dead and truth.
Gal 5:6 Faith worketh by Love
Gal 5:13 By love serve one another
Eph 4:2 Forebear one another in Love
Eph 4:15 Speak the truth in Love
Heb 10:24 Provoke one another to Love
Rewards for loving the Brethren:
1. We shall abide in His Love: John 15:10
If we keep His commandments and continue to obey His instructions, as He obeyed the Fathers commandments, we will abide in His love and live on in it.
2. He will dwell in us, and us in Him: John 15:10 1 John 3:24 John said if we keep His commandments.
3. His commandment: John 13:34 A new commandment was given by Jesus, that we love one another as He loved us
4. We are perfected in Love: 1 John 4:12 If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His Love is perfected in us
5. We are able to Bless others: Philemon 7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love.
6. We will be known as disciples: John 13:35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
7. We will know of our Eternal Life: 1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the Brethren
8. We will know that we are of the Truth: 1 John 3:18,19 My little children, let us not live in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth, and hereby we know that we are of the truth
9. We will know we are Born of God and know Him: 1 John 4:7,8 Beloved, let us love one another, for Love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and Knoweth God.
NOTE: Without Love, Faith will not work. There will be a lack of obedience. The anointing will not flow and break the yolk. You will be defeated All that you do will be in vain. You will be open to attack by the Devil You will not shine for Jesus. God will not be for you. God will not remain in you.
